Thanks so much for visiting our FAQ page, you’re exactly the type of person who should do an escape room!
If you need any further information, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
How much does it cost?
The cost is £18 per person, with a minimum charge of £72.
The VR room is £18 per person, with a minimum charge of £54.
Do you have availability at x time on x day? I want to book for then.
You can view our full availability and book your room here.
How many people fit in a room?
In Chernobyl and Maioc Crisis you can have up to 8 people. Pharaoh’s Anger is much smaller and only fits up to 4 people. The VR room is restricted to 6 people.
I want to book multiple rooms for my business/stag do/hen do/large party. How do I do that?
Our Exeter facility can hold up to 20 people (split 8/8/4). We are able to run 2 or 3 rooms at the same time if you need to. Please email us if you’d like to arrange an event like this.
Can my kids do the rooms?
Children 13 and under must have an adult in the room with them. For younger groups we recommend doing Chernobyl as it is the least difficult of our three rooms. Don’t be fooled into thinking it’s easy though! While many groups of young people have made it out, plenty of groups of adults have failed to escape too!
The VR rooms are restricted to 15+.
I have more people than I originally booked for! Can I add them?
As long as you don’t exceed 8 people in Maioc Crisis or Chernobyl, or 4 people in Pharaoh’s Anger, we are happy to add more people! Please just bring £18 in cash on the day of your booking for each additional person.
Can only 2 people do a room?
We’ve had lots of couples make it out before! However it does make the games much harder! Please also keep in mind we have a minimum charge of £72.
I want to book for today/tomorrow but it’s not showing any available time slots!
You cannot make an online booking less than 24 hours in advance. Please email or call us if you’d like to book and we’ll do our best to fit you in.
Where are you located? Is there parking nearby?
We are at 1 West Street, EX1 1BB. This is just off Fore Street, near The House that Moved. Exeter High Street turns into Fore Street, so any parking in the city centre is fairly convenient. Bartholomew Street Car Park is also quite close, and there is some parking at the bottom of West Street after 18:00.
Is it scary?
Our goal is not to scare you! There are no jump scares, and you’re never plunged into darkness or anything like that. It’s a fun room of puzzles, not a haunted house! If you do have any specific phobias or concerns please call or email us and we are happy to accommodate as best we can!
I get claustrophobic. Can I get out of the room if necessary?
You can get out of the rooms at any time if you need to. With some of our rooms you can literally walk out at any time, while with others you are provided with a code you can use to leave if you become uncomfortable. In the rare case of an emergency such as a fire, all the doors unlock automatically and you can leave.
How accessible is it? Are the rooms physically exerting? Can I do the rooms if I am pregnant?
The rooms are not physically exhausting at all, and are completely safe for pregnant women. Most tasks are puzzle based and there’s no need to run/jump/climb/etc. Unfortunately Chernobyl is our only room with wheelchair access. We do have toilets are on the ground floor. Pharaoh’s Anger requires stair climbing and has limited space to sit down. Please give us a call or email if you have any concerns or if you have any special needs and we will accommodate them as best we can!
Do you serve food or coffees?
We just do escape rooms here! We do not sell snacks or refreshments. However we are about 5 minutes walk from Exeter Quay which has a wide variety of restaurants, pubs, and cafes. Just around the corner on Fore Street there are lots of locally owned establishments as well, and we are about 7 minute walk from the High Street which has a plethora of places to eat and drink.
